About this install
This Melbourne home presented a few challenges when it came to solar. Available roof space was limited, and nearby trees could cause shading at certain times of the day.
The homeowner wanted to make the most of the available roof area while bringing solar, battery storage, whole‑home backup and EV charging together in one system.
The priority was to make the most of the less‑shaded front roof space and plan a solution around the home's current needs and future energy use.
The solution
PA Power designed an integrated home energy system featuring 510W high‑power solar panels, a Fox inverter, Fox battery storage, whole‑home backup and a Fox EV charger.
With limited roof space and potential shading from neighbouring trees, panel placement was an important part of the design. The available front roof area was prioritised to help minimise the impact of shading while making better use of the usable roof space.
During the day, solar energy can power the home, with excess generation stored in the battery for use in the evening.
The system also incorporates whole‑home backup to help keep the household powered during grid outages, while the Fox EV charger brings home vehicle charging into the overall energy setup.
